WHPT Web News (Correspondent Wang Chunlian Photographer Hou Lihua) On January 7th, 2020, the 2020 International Student Graduation Ceremony of Wuhan Polytechnic was held in the conference room on the fourth floor of Yixing Building. Vice President Xu Gongjin attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Secretary Yang Chaofeng, and Deputy Secretary Zhong Jun of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Dai Chunlan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electronic Information En发布gineering, teacher representatives and all Myanmar students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Lei, Vice Dean of International School.
Xu Gongjin delivered a speech on behalf of WHPT’s Party Committee and Administration and he highly appreciated the spirit of overcoming difficulties and hard work of the 12 Myanmar students. He fully affirmed their achievements, congratulated them on their successful graduation, and thanked their professional teachers in the secondary schools and staff in functional departments who carefully trained them. Xu Gongjin encouraged the international students to continue to strengthen their studies after going back to their own country, and use their skills to serve the construction and development of Myanmar, and encouraged them to serve as friendship envoys between China and Myanmar and pass on the friendship between the two countries. As the Chinese New Year approaches, Xu Gongjin wishes Myanmar students a happy Chinese New Year, good health, a happy life, and a bright future.
Li Xue, teacher from the School of Electronic Information Engineering, spoke as a representative of the teachers, encouraging international students to work hard and never give up on the path of their life, be free from arrogance and rashness and be full of ideals, beliefs and pursuits.
The representative of Myanmar students, Chen Bin, reported on his three years study in WHPT, expressed his deep nostalgia for WHPT, Wuhan, and China, and expressed his sincere gratitude to the leaders, teachers and students who educated and cared for them. He said that after graduation, he will continue to work hard for his dream, repay WHPT, appreciate his parents and motherland, and strive to be an envoy of friendship between the peoples of China and Myanmar.
Vice President Xu Gongjin issued graduation certificates and presented gifts to international students. Myanmar students produced a VCR Meeting Wuhan Polytechnic as a graduation gift to Wuhan Polytechnic.
In recent years, WHPT has actively served the development of the “Belt and Road”, attached great importance to internationalization, and regarded the enrollment and education of foreign students as a top priority in school’s development. This is also the first graduation ceremony for foreign students with academic qualifications in the school's history. In the future, WHPT will continue to promote the education of international students, and strive to achieve a leap-forward improvement in the number and quality of foreign students.
