WHPT Web News (correspondent Chen Dingyu, photography Hou Lihua) On the afternoon of May 14, the Sino-US Forum on International Talent Training for Vocational Education was held in Wuhan Polytechnic (WHPT). Experts and scholars of vocational education between China and the United States gathered together to discuss the topic of “global citizenship training”.
The forum was co-sponsored by the American Association of Higher Education Internationalization and Wuhan Polytechnic. American scholars from Toledo University and Oakland Community College, and more than 30 representatives from WHPT. The forum consisted of four parts, that is the president speech, keynote speech, dialogue and signing ceremony. Mr. Xu Gongjin, vice president of WHPT, presided over the forum.
Speech by Mr. Li Hongqu, Party Secretary and President
At the meeting, Mr. Li Hongqu said that the discussion on the training of internationalized talents in Chinese and American colleges will help both institutes to examine the development of both parties from a global perspective and promote the comprehensive upgrading of vocational education.
At the forum, Mr. Li Hongqu, Party Secretary and President of WHPT, and Ms. Cathy Meze, Vice President of Auckland Community College, signed a cooperation framework agreement on behalf of their respective colleges.
