On the afternoon of June 11, the closing ceremony for international students of Wuhan Technical University for the spring semester of 2026 was held in Lecture Hall C11, Lingfeng Building. Forty‑one international students from 12 countries across the globe have successfully completed their phased studies. They will embark on brand‑new life journeys equipped with knowledge, skills and cross‑border friendships gained on campus.

Yang Xudong, Vice‑President of the university, the leadership team of the School of Foreign Languages and Foreign Trade, staff members from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, relevant course instructors and all graduating international students attended the ceremony. The event was solemn yet heart‑warming. Teachers and students of diverse nationalities and ethnic backgrounds gathered together, permeated with youthful energy and sincere friendship transcending national boundaries.

At the ceremony, Yang Xudong extended warm congratulations to the international students on their successful completion of studies. He highly commended their diligent academic pursuit, active participation in campus cultural exchanges, and efforts to build bridges for China‑foreign communication during their studies. He pointed out that the integration and coexistence of diverse cultures stand as a distinctive feature of the university’s open‑door education philosophy.

Yang Xudong delivered a message to all graduating students. He encouraged them to apply what they have learned, keep their feet on the ground and forge ahead with perseverance. He urged them to act as youth ambassadors for cultural exchange, cherish profound friendships across mountains and seas, and actively advance exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.

Hu Juan, faculty representative, reviewed every bit of growth of international students on campus based on her teaching and daily interactions. “From being shy and unfamiliar upon arrival on campus to becoming confident, composed and academically accomplished today, every class and every group activity bears witness to your transformation and progress.” She noted that Chinese and foreign teachers and students learned from one another and accompanied each other through days and nights, forming deep‑seated bonds. She encouraged all international students to carry the knowledge and courage acquired at Wuhan Technical University, strive bravely on the global stage, shine with youthful vitality and write brilliant chapters of their lives.

PAHLAVONSHANBIEV KHUSHRUZ (Li Zheng), representative of graduating international students, delivered a speech. Full of gratitude, he sincerely thanked the university for its thoughtful cultivation and all teachers for their patient instructions. He remarked that his study and life at Wuhan Technical University had been fulfilling and rewarding. He had solidly enhanced his professional competence and truly experienced the hospitality and inclusiveness of the Chinese people. He solemnly promised that after returning home, he would willingly share what he had seen, heard, learned and perceived in China, act as a narrator of Chinese stories and an inheritor of China‑foreign friendship, so that friendships between countries may endure.

A delicately produced memorial video served as a heart‑warming highlight of the ceremony. Footage captured international students concentrating on their studies in class, laughing and cheering during sports and cultural events, and feeling amazed and delighted while experiencing traditional Chinese culture. Vivid scenes pieced together their precious campus moments and vividly illustrated Wuhan Technical University’s international education philosophy of openness, inclusiveness and multicultural co‑existence.

Against melodious music, attending leaders presented completion certificates to all international students. These certificates serve not only as testimony to their fulfilled academic programmes but also precious souvenirs of their cross‑border youth journey.

This closing ceremony marks a “rite of growth” for international students of the 2025‑2026 academic year. It also stands as a vivid embodiment of the university’s in‑depth implementation of China’s opening‑up strategy and its advancement of international‑oriented vocational education.

As an important platform for international exchanges in vocational education in Hubei Province, Wuhan Technical University keeps in line with regional opening‑up priorities. Taking vocational education as the link and youth exchanges as the carrier, the university keeps expanding channels for international cooperation and creates a new landscape for transnational talent training. Looking ahead, Wuhan Technical University will continue to build platforms for interactions between Chinese and foreign youth, boost integration and communication among diverse cultures, deepen international education cooperation, and contribute to the steady progress of China‑friendly undertakings worldwide.
